The Maktab system plays an absolutely crucial role in protecting and passing on Islam here in the UK. At Jamia Masjid Bilal, our evening Maktab works to give children a complete and reliable Islamic education that suits the needs of our local community.
Our Maktab teaches children from ages five to thirteen. We follow a structured curriculum that helps pupils build a strong foundation in Qur’ān recitation and essential Islamic knowledge. We cover subjects such as belief (ʿaqīdah), fiqh, sīrah, and adab, so that our young people learn how to live their lives according to Islam. Along with teaching, our main focus is on building good manners and character, helping our students grow into responsible Muslims who uphold moral values and strive to be true servants of Allah.

The most blessed nikah is a simple one, and the best place to perform nikah is at the masjid. At Masjid Bilal, we uphold the importance of this auspicious ceremony and have been conducting nikahs according to the sunnah for many years.
We also offer convenient facilities for hosting receptions. Our back hall accommodates approximately 150 male guests, while the downstairs hall can comfortably seat up to 100 female guests, with an additional room available for an additional 50 attendees. To enhance the ambience of your event, you can also hire decoration services, ensuring a fitting setting for your special occasion. Contact us for further details or if you would like to book a date for a nikah. The Imams may also conduct nikahs at home upon request.
“Indeed to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.”
We are here to support you during the difficult time when a loved one passes away. Jamia Masjid Bilal works alongside the Huddersfield Muslim Burial Council (HMBC) to ensure you are supported throughout the process. We have a dedicated facility where trained volunteers will help you with the washing and shrouding (ghusl/kafn).
In cases of bereavement, contact us or any of the volunteers at the HMBC:

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, and Alhamdulillah, a growing number of locals have expressed their interest in accepting Islam as their way of life. We have had many people come to the Masjid to take their shahadah and embrace Islam.
If you or someone you know are interested in Islam, please do not hesitate to contact us. Whether you would like to take your shahadah, or just want to visit the Masjid for a chat, we are more than happy to welcome you.
Alongside our core services, Jamia Masjid Bilal also provides a range of additional support for the community. We offer regular programmes and gatherings throughout the year, which you can explore further on our dedicated Programmes & Events page. Our imāms are also available to provide counsel, advice, and religious support for individuals and families seeking guidance. Whether you are looking for spiritual direction, personal support, or answers to religious questions, our doors remain open, and we are here to serve our community.
